Consulting Engineer
Our client is hiring a skilled Consulting Engineer to join our dynamic team in a remote capacity. This role is integral to providing top-tier technical support and consulting services to our United States Public Sector customers. As a part of the Expert Care National – High Touch Technical Support (HTTS) team, you will be collaborating with a group of exceptional Tier 3 Technical Consulting Engineers. This position offers a unique opportunity to specialize in core technologies while gaining comprehensive knowledge of network products, protocols, and best practices. The ideal candidate will be a problem-solver, a team player, and dedicated to customer success.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leading-edge technical support at security classification to Federal and SLED customer bases via phone, email, web, and remote access.
- Work collaboratively with customers, partners, account teams, and other engineers to troubleshoot & debug product problems independently.
- Specialize in one or more core technologies, including System Management, Security, and Data Center technologies.
- Manage a case load of lower critical issues while providing technical support during critical network issues.
- Collaborate with professional teams focusing on problem resolution and access advanced labs for troubleshooting.
- Utilize collaborative tools, intellectual capital, and technical expertise to deliver hardware and software solutions to critical customers.
- Sole US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a clearance.
- Cisco CCNP-CCIE equivalent expertise in troubleshooting/supporting one or more of the 3 technologies: System Management, Security, Data Center.
- Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting methodology.
- Strong skills in Communication & Facilitation, Listening & Affirmation, Influence & Persuasion, Public Speaking & Presentation, Coaching.
- B.S. degree in a technical field (CS/EE preferred).
- Hands-on expertise with Routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP), General protocols (DNS, DHCP, ARP), and Transport protocols (TCP, UDP, QUIC).
- Experience with Network access protocols (SSH, TELNET, RADIUS, TACACS), File management protocols (TFTP, FTP, SFTP, SCP), and Secure protocols (TLS, HTTPS, IPSEC, PKI).
- Familiarity with Cisco technologies (VXLAN, ACI Multipod/Multisite, Nexus Dashboard Orchestrator, Wireless, SD-WAN, VPN, AnyConnect, Stealthwatch).
- Proficiency in Networking tools (Wireshark/packet captures, packet tracer, debugs/log analysis, putty/SecureCRT, Kubernetes, Postgres).
- Desirable: Cisco Network Certifications (CCT, CCST, CCDA, CCDP, CCDE, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, etc.).
