Role Summary
The Digital Services Technical Lead is a senior, hands-on role responsible for driving technological innovation and process improvements within a cloud-based environment. This position involves leading initiatives utilizing DevSecOps methodologies and modern software practices to enhance system performance, security, and reliability. The individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, cloud engineers, and security experts, to support enterprise-wide digital transformation projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical design, development, and implementation of new technology solutions aligned with organizational goals.
- Drive maturity and continuous delivery of high-visibility applications by providing technical leadership and guidance.
- Oversee and support technology transformation initiatives, emphasizing artificial intelligence, analytics, and emerging digital solutions.
- Assess technical and business impacts of new initiatives, providing clear communication to executive stakeholders.
- Respond to RFIs and prepare technical proposals that support strategic roadmaps.
- Utilize observability and monitoring tools to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve enterprise and cloud platform issues.
- Manage incident response, monitoring communications during high-impact events, and coordinating resolutions.
- Establish standardization practices to improve incident management efficiency and reduce recurring issues.
- Develop documentation for incident reports, root cause analyses, and standard operating procedures.
- Participate in Agile development cycles, contributing to continuous process and technology improvements.
Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in cloud architecture, AWS, networking, security tools, and database management.
- Extensive hands-on expertise in DevSecOps, automation, application development, and release management.
- Proven experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code, Kubernetes (AWS EKS), and containerized applications.
- Strong knowledge of identity and access management roles, permissions, and security protocols.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch, OpenSearch, Datadog, and real-time alerting systems.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language including Python, Java, C++, or Ruby.
- AWS Solutions Architect Professional and AWS Certified Security – Specialty certifications preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field.
- 8-10 years of professional experience in cloud and software engineering roles.
- Ability to operate independently, managing tactical and strategic tasks with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts clearly and effectively.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing critical incidents and facilitating root cause analysis sessions.
- Familiarity with PaaS environments, network management principles, and remote access protocols.
- This position requires eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance. In accordance with federal law, U.S. citizenship is required.
Publishing Pay Range: $85.00 – $90.00 hourly
