About the Role:
Join our team as a Hardware Test Engineer, where you'll play a crucial role in validating and ensuring the quality of cutting-edge server and development hardware. Your expertise will help shape the future of high-performance computing by assembling, testing, and troubleshooting complex systems, ensuring they meet rigorous standards.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Assemble and configure bench-top development platforms and large-scale server systems, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications.
- Prepare circuit boards for detailed solder reworks using precision techniques, coordinating with specialized lab technicians for rework execution.
- Connect oscilloscopes and other testing instruments to capture detailed signal waveform data, analyzing system performance.
- Perform mechanical reworks using power tools such as Dremels to modify or repair hardware components as needed.
- Execute comprehensive system testing protocols, collect data, and meticulously document testing results for analysis and reporting.
- Participate in validation testing by screening modules and boards, identifying and debugging hardware issues during the process.
- Support lab logistics, including shipping, receiving, and managing inventory of equipment and materials, ensuring an organized and efficient workspace.
- Maintain and organize lab equipment, continuously seeking improvements to optimize workflows and testing efficiency.
What We Need to See:
- Diploma or Certification, Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 2+ years hands-on experience in an electronic or hardware testing lab, with proven expertise in silicon bring-up, board-level validation, or system testing.
- Strong foundational knowledge of computing architectures, including x86 and ARM, with practical hardware/software debugging skills.
- Proficiency with Linux command-line operations and system-level troubleshooting.
- Experience with server components, including management processors (BMC) and understanding of server hardware maintenance.
- Capable of performing basic solder reworks, with familiarity with lab test equipment setups such as oscilloscopes, following schematics accurately.
- Excellent attention to detail, with clear verbal and written communication skills.
Ways to Stand Out:
- Experience working with accelerated GPU computing or other high-performance hardware environments.
- Familiarity with network fundamentals and server management processes.
- Hands-on experience with schematic interpretation and signal measurement setup.
- Knowledge of x86/ARM architectures, and experience with system-level validation in data centers or enterprise environments.
