Overview:

Join our team as a Cybersecurity Analyst (Journeyman) and play a vital role in strengthening our organization's security posture. You will be responsible for executing remediation of legacy Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) and vulnerability findings across all areas of responsibility, ensuring our systems remain compliant, secure, and resilient against evolving threats. Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze vulnerability data to identify security gaps and prioritize remediation efforts based on risk levels.
  • Execute remediation of legacy STIG and vulnerability findings across Windows and Linux servers, ensuring compliance with security standards.
  • Collaborate closely with system administrators and ISSOs to resolve data inconsistencies and meet Authorization to Operate (ATO) deadlines for system boundaries.
  • Validate all remediation activities, documenting processes and outcomes to establish repeatable and auditable procedures.
  • Support continuous security improvements by proactively identifying vulnerabilities and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of security processes, compliance status, and remediation activities.
  • Assist in risk assessment and develop action plans to address identified threats, ensuring system integrity.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, with 5+ years of relevant experience or equivalent expertise.
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CySA+).
  • Hands-on experience configuring and remediating STIGs for Windows and Linux systems.
  • Strong understanding of security hardening principles, risk assessment, and compliance within government or highly regulated environments.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell to facilitate automation of security tasks.
  • Excellent documentation skills, capable of producing clear and detailed technical reports.
  • (Preferred) Experience supporting DoD or U.S. Coast Guard environments.
  • (Preferred) CISSP or similar advanced cybersecurity certification.
  • Effective communicator, capable of conveying complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Pay Rate: $58.00 – $60.00 Hourly
