Role Summary
This on-site systems engineer position involves applying fundamental principles of computer science and engineering to the design, development, testing, and evaluation of complex software and systems. The role requires analyzing user needs, translating requirements into system specifications, and ensuring compliance with government standards. The engineer will collaborate across disciplines to develop end-to-end solutions throughout the entire system lifecycle, supporting both technical development and client engagement.
Responsibilities
- Ensure system requirements meet client specifications and align with government standards through formal verification methods.
- Translate high-level product development strategies into detailed system requirement specifications, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Develop and establish standards, practices, and procedures related to overall product development.
- Design system interfaces and integrate system components to function cohesively as a unified system.
- Assess system performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures.
- Act as a customer liaison, supporting business development activities and shaping system requirements.
- Participate in system conceptual design and document design concepts thoroughly.
- Conduct design reviews for hardware and software components, ensuring traceability of requirements and validation compliance.
- Generate system-level verification procedures and customer acceptance test plans.
- Modify existing databases and database management systems, guiding programmers and analysts in the development process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a relevant technical field.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in systems engineering, software development, or related roles.
- Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, testing, and implementation.
- Proven ability to independently develop technical solutions to complex problems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with effective problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with troubleshooting system issues and implementing appropriate modifications.
- Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, electronic equipment, and computer hardware/software across multiple platforms.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and support team collaboration.
- Basic mentoring skills to support team members and provide performance feedback.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future.

Publishing Pay Range: $48.00-$54.00 hourly
This position offers a hybrid schedule, with time split between the office and remote work.
