Role Summary
A Junior Purview Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining Microsoft Purview applications within a highly secure environment. This role involves implementing data governance and compliance policies, configuring Microsoft 365 services, and supporting security and data protection initiatives. The position offers an opportunity to work on complex data management projects, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and safeguarding sensitive information.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and test data governance and compliance policies, including data classification, labeling, and DLP policies.
- Monitor and optimize data policies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain Microsoft Purview and integrated Microsoft 365 services.
- Manage role groups, custom roles, and permissions within the Purview portal.
- Implement and support information protection and insider risk management solutions.
- Respond to data protection incidents and participate in security investigations.
- Manage eDiscovery workflows, including data collection, search, and export for legal and compliance teams.
- Collaborate with data architects, analysts, security teams, and application owners to enforce governance best practices.
- Provide user training and support regarding data protection tools, policies, and procedures.
- Assist in risk assessments, audits, and development of security and compliance strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years of progressive IT experience, or Associate’s Degree with 7+ years, or 9+ years of IT experience.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future and ability to obtain a public trust clearance.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview administration.
- Strong understanding of data governance, data security, and compliance principles.
- Experience with data loss prevention (DLP), data classification, and sensitivity labeling.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 environments and related services like Microsoft Entra ID.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell is a plus.
- Experience conducting risk assessments and security audits.
- Ability to develop, implement, and enforce security and compliance policies.
Publishing Pay Range: $48.00 – $50.00 Hourly
This position offers a hybrid schedule, with time split between the office and remote work.
