Network Administrator SME
We are seeking a highly skilled Network Administrator SME to oversee and enhance our SIPRNet infrastructure, ensuring it remains resilient, secure, and compliant with the highest standards. Key Responsibilities
- Network Infrastructure Management: Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot SIPRNet network components, including Cisco routers (39xx, 4xxxx, 8K), switches (29xx, 38xx, 9K), firewalls (55xx and above), TACLANEs (KG 175D, F, N, G), and encryption devices, ensuring continuous operation and security compliance.
- Security Implementation & Hardening: Configure and enforce security policies across network devices, servers, and endpoints, adhering to DISA STIGs and RMF guidelines to mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments (using ACAS, SCAP), analyze findings, and implement remediation strategies to maintain system accreditation and compliance.
- Documentation & Lifecycle Support: Develop comprehensive network documentation, including architecture diagrams and configuration baselines. Prepare and update accreditation artifacts such as System Security Plans, POA&Ms, and manage entries within eMASS.
- Performance & Security Monitoring: Monitor network performance, security alerts, and conduct troubleshooting for connectivity, authentication, and configuration issues within classified environments.
- Collaboration & Consultation: Work closely with cybersecurity teams, system engineers, and leadership to align network capabilities with mission objectives. Provide expert recommendations during technical reviews and change control processes.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay informed on emerging technologies, federal cybersecurity mandates, and best practices—integrating these insights to enhance network security and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, with 12+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.
- Certifications: Active DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA Security, SSCP).
- Technical Expertise:
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Cisco routing and switching (including 39xx, 4xxxx, 8K series), and enterprise firewalls (55xx and above).
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience with TACLANEs (KG 175D, F, N, G) and GEM management console for configuration and engineering builds.
- Security Clearance: Must possess an active Secret clearance.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Familiarity with Cisco ISE, DoD Zero Trust architecture, F5, Infoblox DNS, and Palo Alto firewalls.
- Experience collaborating with government leadership or senior military officials.
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and time management skills, with an ability to adapt in high-pressure environments.
