We are seeking an experienced and strategic Lead Cybersecurity – eDiscovery Collection and Preservation Specialist to lead our enterprise-wide electronic data identification, preservation, and collection initiatives. Based in Dallas, this role offers an exceptional opportunity to influence high-stakes legal and compliance matters. You will serve as a subject matter expert in Microsoft Purview eDiscovery (Premium), overseeing the end-to-end eDiscovery workflow, ensuring precise and defensible data handling, and mentoring junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead eDiscovery Operations: Manage the complete lifecycle in Microsoft Purview, including case creation, custodian management, and executing advanced KQL search queries to support legal and compliance efforts.
- Defensible Data Collection: Perform in-place collections across platforms such as Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams, ensuring data integrity, chain-of-custody documentation, and adherence to legal standards.
- Legal Hold Oversight: Administer and monitor automated legal holds to guarantee continuous preservation of relevant data, implementing “preservation in place” strategies effectively.
- Advanced Data Processing & Reduction: Leverage Premium features like Conversation Threading, process cloud attachments for linkage accuracy, and utilize TAR and AI technologies to prioritize relevant data while reducing volume.
- Process Development & Optimization: Create, refine, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) aligned with evolving 2026 legal standards and internal compliance policies. Conduct ongoing process improvement initiatives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Legal, IT, External Counsel, and external review platforms (e.g., Relativity) to troubleshoot collection challenges and manage secure data transfers.
- Mentorship & Leadership: Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years in eDiscovery, with at least 3 years specializing in Microsoft Purview (Premium/Advanced eDiscovery).
- Technical Expertise: Deep proficiency in Microsoft 365 environments, including managing complex data collections and legal holds.
- Scripting & Programming Skills: Proficiency in PowerShell and familiarity with Object-Oriented Programming, GenAI prompt writing, and Agentic AI are highly desirable.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Certifications: Digital Forensics (e.g., EnCE, GCFA), Certified eDiscovery Specialist (CEDS), or Paralegal Certification preferred.
- Legal & Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with EDRM, managing legacy and inactive data, soft-deleted accounts, and cloud-based storage systems.
