A mid-to-senior level Cloud Financial Analyst responsible for managing and optimizing financial operations within cloud environments. This role involves detailed financial analysis, cost forecasting, and strategic recommendations to improve cloud cost efficiency across multiple platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. The position requires collaboration with finance, IT, and engineering teams to ensure financial governance and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Participate in cloud architectural reviews, providing financial insights and cost estimates.
- Prepare detailed monthly financial reports on cloud spending, analyzing trends and identifying optimization opportunities.
- Design and implement chargeback models for accurate business unit cost allocation.
- Develop fiscal year financial projections and maintain burndown charts for cloud costs.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of cloud spend patterns to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Recommend and implement cost optimization strategies across cloud platforms.
- Ensure compliance with organizational financial policies and governance frameworks.
- Utilize cloud cost management tools such as AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, and Google Cloud Billing.
- Present complex financial data and insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support efficient cloud financial operations and decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of financial or business analysis experience.
- 3+ years focused specifically on cloud cost management and optimization.
- Proven experience developing chargeback models and fiscal year projections.
- Strong understanding of cloud-hosted application architecture and networking.
- Proficiency with AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, and Google Cloud Billing tools.
- Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, scripting, and object-oriented programming knowledge preferred.
- Experience with visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-disciplinary teams.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance is required.
- Candidates must have dependable, current authorization to work in the United States.
Publishing Pay Range: $65.00 – $72.00 Hourly
This position is based in remote and can be performed from an approved location.
