We are seeking a highly experienced I&E Designer II to join our team, supporting enterprise projects within our manufacturing and pipeline facilities. In this senior role, you will lead the design and drafting efforts for instrumentation and electrical systems, ensuring projects meet industry standards, safety regulations, and company specifications. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical development of electrical and instrumentation designs, ensuring alignment with project scope and industry standards.
  • Assign and document electrical equipment tags, conduit, and cable identifiers to facilitate accurate system installation and operation.
  • Develop detailed process flow diagrams (PFD), piping & instrument diagrams (P&ID), general equipment layouts, facility plot plans, and comprehensive equipment and instrument lists for various plant and pipeline-related construction projects.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers and stakeholders to define scope, review man-hour estimates, and establish realistic schedules for design deliverables.
  • Assist in preparing project scopes, engineering design scopes, and construction scopes of work, supporting contractual agreements with external vendors and third-party contractors.
  • Participate in project meetings to gather requirements, provide technical input, and ensure design solutions meet operational and safety standards.
  • Review and resolve drawing development issues, providing timely modifications to record drawings to reflect project changes.
  • Coordinate the distribution of design packages, ensuring all stakeholders receive accurate and complete information for their roles.
  • Manage material take-offs, generate parts lists, and develop material data sheets to guarantee timely procurement of equipment and components.
  • Create and implement technical specifications, standards, and procedures to optimize drafting efficiency and quality control.
  • Maintain meticulous records of design documents, technical correspondence, and project-related communications.
  • Support standardization efforts by contributing to the creation and maintenance of company-approved drawing templates and documentation procedures.
  • Collaborate with vendors on material quotations and availability.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers and draftsmen, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Travel as required to site locations via air or automobile to support field activities, inspections, and design verifications.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of senior-level experience in electrical and instrumentation design for industrial or pipeline facilities.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard design tools and CADD software.
  • Strong understanding of process flow diagrams, P&ID, equipment layouts, and construction documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of coordinating across multiple departments and external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects efficiently within budget and schedule constraints.
  • Ability to travel as needed to project sites.

Publishing Pay Range: $47.00 – $48.50 Hourly
