A Supply Chain Procurement Specialist (Buyer) is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, equipment, and services to support operational and project requirements. This role involves managing procurement activities to ensure timely delivery, cost efficiency, adherence to quality standards, and compliance with company policies. The specialist collaborates with internal stakeholders across multiple departments to align procurement strategies with business objectives and maintain strong supplier relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Execute purchase orders for materials, equipment, and services in accordance with approved requisitions, contracts, and sourcing strategies.
  • Manage the end-to-end buying process, including RFQs, bid evaluations, supplier selection, and order placement.
  • Ensure accuracy of pricing, quantities, delivery dates, and contractual terms prior to PO release.
  • Monitor open orders and proactively expedite materials to meet project and operational schedules.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned suppliers regarding pricing, lead times, order status, and issue resolution.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers to support reliability, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to resolve delivery delays, quality issues, and invoice discrepancies.
  • Support vendor performance monitoring by tracking delivery, quality, and responsiveness metrics.
  • Support cost control efforts through competitive sourcing and negotiation while adhering to approved budgets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to mitigate supply risks impacting material availability or project milestones.

Qualifications

  • Experience in procurement, buying, or supply chain operations.
  • Working knowledge of procurement processes, supplier negotiations, and purchase order management.
  • Experience using ERP systems for purchasing and order tracking.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Availability to work during scheduled hours and meet departmental deadlines.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Publishing Pay Range: $17.00-$22.00 Hourly
This position offers a hybrid schedule, with time split between the office and remote work.
