Role Summary
A Civil Designer IV plays a critical role in supporting engineering and operations teams by developing detailed facility drawings and 3D models. This senior-level position involves producing accurate design documentation for complex infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal processes. The role requires independent evaluation, technical expertise, and effective communication to facilitate safe, reliable, and efficient operations across various facility types.
Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining facility data management programs and ensure adherence to company standards and processes.
- Proficiently utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to create detailed 3D models and drawings for multi-disciplinary projects.
- Develop and update site plans, foundation location plans, steel and concrete details, rebar schedules, and materials.
- Prepare and maintain soil erosion and sediment control plans, stakeout plans, workspace drawings, and other necessary documentation.
- Provide technical support for design and drafting of complex engineering projects, including coordination with reference files.
- Ensure timely delivery of accurate drawings from conceptualization through as-built documentation, supporting ongoing maintenance and updates.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners to determine project needs and deliverables.
- Develop facility drawings for plants, stations, and above-ground appurtenances supporting operations, maintenance, engineering, and construction activities.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant codes and standards such as ASME, API, ANSI, DOT, NEC, and others.
- Participate in independent design evaluations, contributing to the successful completion of engineering projects with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
- Associate of Applied Science degree in Design and Drafting Technology or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of five years of drafting experience, with at least three years focused on independent design assignments.
- Extensive experience working within the gas and oil industry, specifically in design and drafting roles.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D, including 3D modeling and working with survey data points.
- Knowledge of drawing units such as architectural feet and inches as well as decimal feet.
- Familiarity with industry standards and codes, including ASME, API, ANSI, DOT, ISA, NEC, and others.
- Ability to communicate effectively via email and electronic meeting tools.
- Background in concrete and steel design is preferred.
- Availability to work in a hybrid environment, combining office and remote work arrangements.
Publishing Pay Range: $40.00 – $52.00 Hourly
This position offers a hybrid schedule, with time split between the office and remote work.
