Role Summary
This position is a full-performance level role responsible for monitoring and maintaining statewide LAN/WAN network systems. The technician will support the operational stability of complex voice and data circuits, ensuring reliable network performance across multiple facilities. The role requires technical expertise in network management, incident resolution, and customer service, with an emphasis on shift work to provide 24/7 support.
Responsibilities
- Monitor network alarms, alerts, and faults, responding promptly to maintain service reliability.
- Maintain and update incident, request, problem, configuration, change, and resolution records in ServiceNow.
- Analyze network performance reports from management systems, databases, and spreadsheets to identify issues.
- Initiate trouble reports and coordinate corrective actions with maintenance or technical support teams.
- Participate in rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, as part of a 24/7 operational support team.
- Complete two weeks of training on the 2nd shift (2pm–10pm), followed by two weeks on the 1st shift (8am–4pm), before working the 3rd shift (12am–8am).
- Adhere to scheduled work rotations: 10 days on, 4 days off, 5 days on, 2 days off, then repeat.
- Troubleshoot voice and data circuit issues, leveraging knowledge in network configurations.
- Collaborate with team members to resolve operational issues efficiently.
- Document all troubleshooting and maintenance activities accurately in network management tools.
Qualifications
- Minimum one year of experience in LAN/WAN support and maintenance.
- At least one year of call center or service desk experience.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of voice and data circuit troubleshooting.
- Experience with incident ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Remedy.
- Familiarity with network management reports and analysis tools.
- Ability to work rotating shifts including overnight hours.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Availability to train on 2nd shift before transitioning to 3rd shift work.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Publishing Pay Range: $18.00 – $20.00 USD Hourly
This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
