Role Summary
This role is a senior-level technical position responsible for leading on-site network installation projects, coordinating teams, and ensuring technical excellence. The individual will serve as the primary liaison with clients and partners, overseeing the planning, execution, and quality assurance of infrastructure deployment. The position involves hands-on coordination, safety management, technical validation, and team leadership to support successful project completion.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical aspects of network installation projects, providing on-site guidance and mentorship to field technicians.
- Coordinate and schedule field technicians for installations, ensuring proper resource deployment.
- Plan and manage high-risk activities, including live network integrations, with focus on risk mitigation and escalation processes.
- Act as the primary on-site contact for clients, subcontractors, and partner resources, maintaining clear communication channels.
- Review and validate all documentation, including device staging instructions and installation specifications.
- Conduct daily safety briefings and weekly safety meetings, ensuring compliance with OSHA and company policies.
- Develop and maintain site survey procedures and documentation for installation activities.
- Perform site surveys, analyze findings, and discuss remediation plans with customers and field engineers.
- Collaborate with project management to coordinate on-site activities and adhere to project timelines.
- Train technicians on technical standards, safety procedures, and best practices for site work.
- Perform device testing such as Dead on Arrival (DOA) and Green Light testing, followed by quality assurance checks post-installation.
- Integrate network components according to cabling diagrams and slotting matrices.
- Provide remote console management access to support engineering teams.
- Handle physical installation tasks, including cabling, device racking, and mounting hardware.
Qualifications
- Previous experience leading small technical teams in network installation or related projects.
- Strong decision-making, collaboration, and adaptability skills.
- Knowledge of network cabling, fiber optics, and infrastructure technologies.
- Familiarity with major command line protocols (Cisco IOS, JunOS) and networking essentials.
- Experience updating firmware and software on networking equipment such as Cisco and Juniper devices.
- Background in network implementations, with supporting or troubleshooting experience.
- Proficiency with network mapping tools and software, including Ekahau.
- Relevant degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Certifications such as BICSI Installer, CCENT, Network+, and A+ preferred.
- Experience working in data centers or with complex project scopes involving network infrastructure.
- At least 3 years of progressive experience in networking or technical project roles.
- Ability to communicate effectively with peers and clients during problem resolution under pressure.
- Skilled in managing multiple tasks and priorities with good judgment and analytical skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 75% as required.
Publishing Pay Range: $42.68 – $48.71 hourly
This is a fully remote role and can be performed from an approved location.
