Role Summary
A Material Control Specialist is responsible for coordinating material procurement, management, and logistics for engineering projects within the oil and gas industry. This role involves supporting the design and construction phases by ensuring timely delivery and proper administration of project materials. The position requires collaboration across multiple departments to facilitate smooth material flow and maintain project schedules.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate material procurement processes to ensure timely delivery supporting construction activities.
- Collect and analyze material cost and delivery information during project planning.
- Prepare requisitions for materials and equipment based on engineering drawings and specifications.
- Review vendor quotations and contractual terms to confirm alignment with project requirements.
- Act as liaison between design teams, materials management, project management, and construction sites.
- Collaborate with procurement teams and project engineers to provide guidance on material policies and procedures.
- Monitor the progress of procurement activities and assist in expediting to meet project deadlines.
- Oversee inspection processes related to materials and equipment deliveries.
- Resolve issues related to material delivery and logistics to minimize project delays.
- Manage material control documentation, including requisitions, purchase orders, transfers, and receiving reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration or Accounting.
- 0 to 2 years of experience in a related role within the oil and gas industry.
- Strong understanding of procurement and material management processes.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of vendor management and technical data handling.
- Proficiency with project documentation and material control software.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to project needs.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Publishing Pay Range: $28.00 – $32.00 hourly
This position offers a hybrid schedule, with time split between the office and remote work.
