Role Summary
This senior full stack engineer role involves designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance web applications primarily using React.js, Node.js, and AWS services. The successful candidate will work remotely, owning multiple applications and collaborating within an agile team to deliver reliable and scalable solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain responsive web applications using React.js, Redux, and React Router.
- Build and implement RESTful APIs, GraphQL endpoints, and microservices utilizing Node.js and Express.js.
- Develop serverless architectures leveraging AWS Lambda and container solutions with ECS; optionally Azure experience is a plus.
- Design and optimize SQL and NoSQL database schemas, including working with Couchbase and graph databases for complex data relationships.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, following best practices in web development.
- Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior developers.
- Support applications in production, including troubleshooting, monitoring logs, and resolving issues efficiently.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system integrations, including mobile components.
- Engage in technical design discussions and architecture planning for scalable solutions.
- Manage multiple applications end-to-end, prioritizing enhancements, maintenance, and lifecycle support within an agile environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience in full stack web development.
- Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and TypeScript.
- Extensive experience with React.js and its ecosystem, including Redux and React Router.
- Solid understanding of Node.js, Express.js, and API development.
- Experience with AWS services, especially Lambda and ECS; Azure experience is optional.
- Familiarity with RESTful API and GraphQL design principles.
- Proven experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including Couchbase, and working with graph databases.
- Demonstrated ability to support and maintain production-grade applications in high availability environments.
- Ability to manage multiple applications simultaneously, with effective prioritization skills.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and accountability.
Publishing Pay Range: $60.00 – $65.00 hourly
This position is based in remote work, with a preference for candidates near Oakland, CA for once-weekly onsite team visits.
