Role Summary
A senior-level DevOps and platform engineer responsible for designing, building, and managing scalable AWS infrastructure to support AI, data science, and application workloads. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive automation initiatives, implement infrastructure as code, and ensure security and compliance across cloud environments. The position requires deep AWS expertise and experience with container orchestration, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation) across multiple AWS accounts.
- Build, optimize, and automate CI/CD pipelines, adopting shift-left practices for testing and deployment.
- Implement automation and enforce security and compliance policies at resource and repository levels.
- Support deployment automation into diverse containerized clusters and data platforms.
- Manage complex pipelines involving multi-cloud, multi-platform, and on-premises systems.
- Mentor mid-level and junior engineers to promote best practices and technical growth.
- Automate compliance integrations into CI/CD workflows using Terraform, Python, and Shell scripting.
- Collaborate with teams to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, deployment, and security issues.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of cloud architecture, security standards, and DevOps tools.
- Participate in on-site operations at the downtown office, with occasional travel to the West Houston location as needed.
Qualifications
- 5 or more years of experience working within the AWS cloud ecosystem as a DevOps or Platform engineer.
- Deep expertise in AWS services and architecture best practices.
- 5 or more years of experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Extensive experience supporting Kubernetes and container orchestration platforms.
- Proficiency in scripting and programming with languages including Python, Bash, and Shell.
- 5 or more years of Linux/Unix system administration.
- 5 or more years working with code repositories such as GitHub, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.
- 3 or more years supporting CI/CD tools including GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Jenkins, etc.
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, and architecture patterns.
- Excellent troubleshooting and incident response skills.
- AWS architecture certification is preferred.
- Must be available to work on-site in downtown office five days a week and support occasional travel to the West Houston office.
Publishing Pay Range: $100.00 – $103.00 hourly
