Role Summary
The Executive Sales Director is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the sales organization, managing key customer relationships, and driving strategic revenue growth. This high-level position reports directly to the COO and collaborates closely with executive leadership to align sales initiatives with company goals, operational capacity, and profitability. The role encompasses managing a team of account managers while serving as the primary account manager for the organization’s largest strategic clients.
Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and develop all Account Managers and sales team members.
- Establish sales targets, priorities, and performance standards.
- Coach and mentor account managers to enhance customer management and sales effectiveness.
- Oversee sales strategy, forecasting, pipeline management, and revenue growth initiatives.
- Act as the lead Account Manager for key strategic accounts, managing relationships, negotiations, and growth opportunities.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with major customers while identifying opportunities for account expansion.
- Partner with executive leadership and other departments to ensure sales opportunities align with operational capacity and profitability.
- Serve as the escalation point for significant customer issues and strategic opportunities.
- Lead major customer presentations, negotiations, and business reviews.
- Monitor sales performance, providing regular updates and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive experience in sales and account management preferred.
- Proven leadership experience managing and developing a sales team.
- Extensive experience managing large, strategic enterprise accounts.
- Strong understanding of sales strategies, customer relationship management, and business development.
- Proficiency in CRM platforms, forecasting tools, and sales analytics dashboards.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and leadership skills.
- Ability to balance customer needs with company profitability and operational capacity.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking, strong business judgment, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience working cross-functionally with operations, finance, and executive teams.
- Familiarity with business intelligence platforms and sales reporting systems.
Publishing Pay Range: $130,000.00 – $150,000.00 annually
This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
