The client faced a critical challenge in the upgrade process involving the replacement of the bank’s older DMZ network switches to the hardware provider’s Nexus platform. This transition required meticulous planning and documentation, including the creation of detailed Network Change Documents (NCDs) for implementation.

The documents underwent extensive peer reviews, with additional scrutiny from the hardware provider and the bank’s internal teams. Conflicting site survey data further complicated the process, necessitating rescheduled surveys with third-party vendors to ensure accurate implementation.

SOLUTION:

GDH provided a skilled team to lead the NCD design and review process. The team implemented a rigorous quality control approach, including running diagnostic commands on switches to verify site survey data, ensuring IP address and VLAN accuracy. GDH’s attention to detail and methodical approach to double and triple-checking the work contributed to the accuracy and reliability of the NCDs.

The GDH team achieved a 100% success rate with their NCDs, with no need to retract any implementations. Over the course of a year, they completed 25+ NCDs, upgrading approximately 60 devices in the network and conducting two peer reviews per week.
