We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Administrator for a full-time, on-site position located in Houston. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced professional who thrives in dynamic environments and is passionate about designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-level data network infrastructure. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining network operations across data centers, WAN, LAN, wireless, and security systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. You will collaborate closely with IT teams and business stakeholders to architect solutions and support critical network services in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage robust data network infrastructure to support enterprise operations and business objectives.
  • Configure and maintain network hardware and software, ensuring the stability and reliability of network services across multiple platforms.
  • Oversee daily network operations in both centralized data centers and remote field locations, addressing issues proactively to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with IT teams and business stakeholders to gather requirements and architect network solutions tailored to organizational needs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve escalated network hardware and software issues, applying advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Develop, monitor, and report on network performance metrics and establish baseline measurements for continuous improvement.
  • Implement and test network security measures, including access control, authentication, and disaster recovery protocols to safeguard critical systems.
  • Perform additional network-related tasks as assigned, adapting to changing priorities within a dynamic technical environment.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience in network administration.
  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience in network security engineering and support within a large enterprise environment.
  • At least 6 years of hands-on experience supporting and maintaining enterprise Cisco networks.
  • Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP networking fundamentals and routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in troubleshooting complex network issues and implementing effective solutions.
  • Strong familiarity with network security concepts, including firewalls and access control models.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with proven ability to lead projects and deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a related field, Cisco-ASA and Meraki firewall experience, CCNA or CCNP certifications, and exposure to Palo Alto security appliances.
  • Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure, including time-sensitive situations that may require overtime, variable hours, or occasional travel.
  • Physical capability to work at a desk for extended periods and flexibility for overnight stays if required.

Pay Range: $105,000.00 – $120,000.00 annually
This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
