Major IT Company Assists Bank With Remote Work Transition

CHALLENGE:

Our client, a world-leading IT integrator, needed to help its largest client, a major bank, with transitioning 20,000 workers to work from home.

The bank asked the IT integrator to set up 22,000 users with softphones and Single Number Reach, to create new voicemail boxes and call forwards for users (forwarding calls from work phones to softphones or personal cell phones), to update user mapping for 12,000 users, and to increase network capacity.

A transition like this would typically take weeks or months, but the IT integrator needed it to happen in just days because of the suddenness of the restrictions.

SOLUTION:

GDH provided the IT integrator an implementation team responsible for swiftly configuring remote user setups and automation technologies. This facilitated the transition of bank employees within a matter of days.

For Single Number Reach, they moved 22,000 users and reduced the amount of time and man-hours the project would typically take by 98.5%. They set up voicemail boxes and call forwards for about 20,000 users and were able to reduce the time to do this by 98%.

With the automation, the user mapping and network capacity were completed 90% faster than they would have been without it.

RESULT:

While many other service providers experienced interruptions to their services due to the disruptions caused by a lengthy transition from on-site work to working from home, the bank was able to continue to provide customer support seamlessly because of the automated transition made possible by GDH and the IT integrator.

  • Moved 22,000 users
  • Reduced time of project by 98.5%
  • Voicemail and call forwards for 20,000 users
  • User mapping completed and increased network capacity with 90% reduction in time
