A leading global technology integrator providing solutions to public and private sector clients—including contracts with a major U.S. defense entity—needed a specialized partner to scale a team of experienced engineers for an urgent, high-travel federal mission. CHALLENGE:

The client was awarded a new federal contract requiring the immediate placement of senior-level engineers within its Unified Communications department. These engineers were responsible for planning, designing, configuring, and deploying modernized communications systems at defense installations across the country and select international locations.

The positions demanded active Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET security clearance and extensive travel—two to three weeks per month—to secure and sometimes remote locations. 

Engineers would be responsible for hands-on troubleshooting and deployment of Cisco-based voice and video collaboration tools, including systems like CUCM, CER, TMS, legacy video infrastructure, and more. 

The client faced significant challenges identifying professionals with the technical expertise, appropriate clearance, and flexibility to meet the travel and project requirements within a short timeframe.

SOLUTION:

GDH quickly implemented a targeted recruiting strategy to identify and secure cleared Unified Communications Engineers who met the client’s highly specific criteria.
