AS400 Developer

We are seeking a highly experienced AS400 Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will leverage your extensive expertise in legacy and modern systems to deliver reliable, efficient solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing operations, implement enhancements, and facilitate system transitions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-line support by troubleshooting and resolving help desk tickets related to user issues and system break fixes.
  • Develop, test, and implement applications using COBOL/400, CL, DDS, and IBM DB2/SQL on the AS400 platform.
  • Contribute to software enhancement projects and assist in transitioning systems from AS400 to .NET environments.
  • Support periodic operational tasks, including file uploads/downloads and year-end financial rollovers.
  • Document existing processes to aid software conversion efforts and ensure smooth process flows.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts and other stakeholders to gather requirements and implement effective solutions.
  • Participate in support of transitional efforts, ensuring seamless migration and integration.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in AS400 software development.
  • Extensive experience with COBOL/400, CL, DDS, and IBM DB2/SQL.
  • At least 5 years as a Business Analyst, with a solid understanding of business processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools: Word, Excel, Visio (minimum 3 years).
  • Bonus experience: Agile methodologies, Peoplesoft or other financial systems, PeopleSoft development tools, .NET, Java, or PHP in web environments.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Action-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to ownership and problem-solving.
  • Strong customer service orientation and excellent communication skills.

Pay Range: $65.00 – $70.00 USD Hourly
