Job Title: AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer to lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of cloud-native data platforms on AWS. In this role, you will embed best practices in DevOps throughout the data engineering lifecycle, ensuring automation, scalability, security, and high availability of data pipelines and infrastructure. Your expertise will support enterprise transformation initiatives by enabling efficient and reliable data solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cloud Infrastructure & Automation:
- Architect and manage AWS services including S3, EMR, Lambda, Iceberg, and Kafka to support scalable data platforms.
- Develop and implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) strategies using Terraform or CloudFormation for consistent and repeatable deployments.
- CI/CD & Observability:
- Design, build, and maintain continuous integration and deployment pipelines for data workflows leveraging tools such as AWS CodePipeline and Jenkins.
- Integrate monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions with CloudWatch and Dynatrace to ensure proactive issue detection and resolution.
- Data Pipeline Operations:
- Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot ETL/ELT workflows using PySpark for both batch and streaming data processes.
- Implement automated data validation, cleansing, and quality checks to maintain high data integrity.
- Security & Compliance:
- Apply IAM policies, data encryption, and adhere to industry standards such as SOC and GDPR for data security and regulatory compliance.
- Automate security practices, including role-based access control and vulnerability assessments.
- Collaboration & Agile Delivery:
- Work closely with data engineers, architects, and product teams to ensure technical solutions align with business objectives.
- Promote an Agile and DevOps mindset, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement across development teams.
Required Skills:
- Extensive experience with AWS services: EC2, S3, EMR, Lambda, VPC, CloudFormation, and related offerings.
- Proficiency with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Pulumi) and automation practices.
- Hands-on experience with data technologies including Spark, Kafka, and Databricks.
- Programming skills in Python and Bash for scripting and automation.
- Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks, including IAM, encryption, and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional or AWS Solutions Architect certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or related roles with AWS.
Pay Range: $80.00 – $88.60 hourly
