Cloud Cyber Security Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement secure cloud architectures aligned with industry best practices and compliance standards.
- Deploy and manage security controls within cloud platforms, including identity management, encryption, network segmentation, and security monitoring tools.
- Support cloud migration and modernization efforts, ensuring security considerations are embedded throughout all phases.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Enforce security policies and standards, including configuration management, access controls, and incident response procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement zero-trust security architecture principles.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for security controls, compliance audits, and certification processes.
- Provide guidance and mentorship on cloud security best practices to team members.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity with a focus on cloud environments.
- Hands-on expertise with at least one major cloud service provider (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Relevant security certifications such as Security+, CISSP, or cloud-specific security certifications preferred.
- Strong knowledge of security standards and frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, SOC).
- Proficiency with security tools for monitoring, alerting, and incident response (e.g., SIEM, intrusion detection, vulnerability scanners).
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools and automation (Terraform, Ansible, scripting).
- Ability to analyze complex security issues and develop scalable solutions.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain relevant security clearances as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced certifications such as AWS Certified Security – Specialty or Azure Security Engineer.
- Experience with compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, HIPAA, GDPR).
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
