Consulting Engineer
About the Role:
As a Consulting Engineer at Level 4, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor in high-visibility, customer-facing engagements. Your expertise will support next-generation Routing & Switching, Enterprise, and Service Provider networks by leading validation efforts, designing innovative lab configurations, and ensuring solutions meet precise customer requirements. You will collaborate closely with Solution Architects, engineering teams, and customers to translate technical challenges into seamless, efficient implementations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with customers and stakeholders to plan, execute, and document validation projects, ensuring successful deployment of new platforms and solutions.
- Analyze technical requirements, develop test plans, build lab configurations, and troubleshoot complex network issues.
- Validate new network designs and features, ensuring they align with customer specifications and industry best practices.
- Develop, integrate, and automate testing procedures using scripting and programming tools such as Python, APIs, and orchestration platforms like Ansible and Terraform.
- Collaborate with engineering, sales, and delivery teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and technical innovation.
- Identify gaps and issues during validation, working proactively with cross-functional teams to resolve them efficiently.
- Stay abreast of the latest networking technologies, industry trends, and emerging standards to inform best practices and accelerate solution adoption.
- Facilitate new business opportunities through technical leadership and thought-provoking demonstrations.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of validation labs by designing next-generation environments for Data Center, Enterprise, and Service Provider customers.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 3-8 years of experience in complex network troubleshooting, validation, or advisory roles (e.g., TAC).
- Deep technical expertise with Cisco routing and switching platforms, especially Catalyst 8K, ASR, ISR, IOS-XE, and IOS-XR.
- Proficiency in core networking protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, VPNs (IPsec, DMVPN), NAT, QoS, and SNMP.
- Strong scripting and automation skills, preferably in Python, with familiarity in APIs, data models (YAML, JSON, XML), and configuration management tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of explaining complex concepts clearly and engagingly.
- Industry-recognized certifications such as CCNP or CCNA are highly desirable.
- Experience with network testing tools like Spirent or Ixia is a plus.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve intricate network problems with a customer-focused approach.

Pay Range: $31.00 – $33.00 Hourly
