The Control Engineer is a senior-level technical professional responsible for supporting control system equipment and configuration on capital projects and daily operations within process plants and pipeline facilities. This role involves providing engineering and technical support for process control, instrumentation, and measurement technologies. The Control Engineer collaborates across project scopes, offers guidance on system design, and contributes to operational training to ensure optimal and safe process control.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support for process control systems, instrumentation, and measurement technologies.
  • Assist in defining project scope, preparing estimates, and contributing to control system design.
  • Support the configuration and troubleshooting of DCS, HMI, and PLC platforms.
  • Participate in process control project planning, execution, and validation activities.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to deliver training on control systems and instrumentation.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards for documentation, safety, and regulatory controls.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives for control system performance and safety.
  • Provide technical guidance on loop tuning, complex regulatory control, and safety system integration.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and advancements, with a focus on Honeywell Experion and other control platforms.
  • Travel up to 25% to project sites and operational locations as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or controls engineering) or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in implementing process control and related systems in plant and pipeline facilities, or 10 years of equivalent experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of natural gas processing, fractionation, and pipeline operations (liquid and gas).
  • Familiarity with industry standards for documentation, safety systems, and regulatory controls.
  • Proven experience configuring and troubleshooting DCS, HMI, and PLC platforms; Honeywell Experion experience is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills across multiple levels of the organization.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future.

Publishing Pay Range: $120,000.00 – $125,000.00 Annually 

This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
