Data Engineer

Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and architectures that support our organization’s data-driven initiatives. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and optimize robust ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL Server, ensuring efficient data ingestion, transformation, and loading processes.
  • Integrate data pipelines seamlessly with cloud services such as AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, and GCP Dataflow to enable scalable and flexible data operations.
  • Implement real-time streaming solutions leveraging Kafka, Kinesis, and similar technologies to support live data processing.
  • Develop and enhance data models and architectures to facilitate high-performance analytics and reporting.
  • Collaborate with governance and SQL engineering teams to establish standards, optimize workflows, and ensure data quality and security.
  • Utilize programming languages such as Python, Scala, and Java for pipeline development, automation, and integration tasks.
  • Automate deployment, infrastructure provisioning, and monitoring through DevOps practices using Terraform, Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Create technical documentation, including pipeline diagrams, data flow diagrams, and compliance reports, to ensure transparency and maintainability.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 5–7 years of professional experience in data engineering, database development, or related fields.
  • Proven expertise with SQL Server, including building and optimizing stored procedures and pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud integration and data orchestration tools like Airflow and DBT.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, Scala, or Java, with applicable certifications (e.g., Python Institute PCPP, Scala Professional Certification preferred).
  • Familiarity with DevOps automation tools (Terraform, Ansible) and containerization platforms (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Background in data modeling and architecture, ideally with vendor-specific training (e.g., Snowflake, AWS Big Data Specialty).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on performance optimization and troubleshooting.
  • Strong documentation skills and the ability to communicate complex technical details. 

Preferred Certifications:

  • AWS Certified Data Engineer
  • Azure Data Engineer Associate
  • Google Professional Data Engineer

Publishing Pay Rate: $45.00 – $50.00 Hourly
