Join Our Team as a Designer IV

Are you a skilled Civil Designer with a passion for infrastructure and a keen eye for detail? We are seeking a talented Designer IV to join a dynamic team in Houston, TX. In this pivotal role, you will support engineering and operations teams by developing precise, compliant, and innovative drawings that underpin critical projects in the gas and oil industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with engineering and operational teams to ensure adherence to facility data management programs and standards.
  • Demonstrate a proactive attitude toward learning and mastering company standards, processes, and best practices.
  • Expertly utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to create detailed 3D models and technical drawings.
  • Develop and coordinate multi-disciplinary site plans, foundation location plans, concrete details, rebar schedules, materials lists, soil erosion and sediment control plans, steel location plans, steel details, stakeout plans, and related documents.
  • Provide technical support by designing and producing drawings for complex engineering projects, ensuring precision and clarity.
  • Independently evaluate project needs, plan workflows, and contribute significantly to project success.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners to accurately interpret project requirements and deliver solutions that meet or exceed expectations.
  • Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date facility drawings for plants, stations, and above-ground appurtenances supporting operations, maintenance, engineering, and construction efforts.
  • Manage drawing lifecycle from initial concept through as-built documentation, ensuring accuracy, regulatory compliance, and ease of future maintenance.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Associate of Applied Science in Design and Drafting Technology or equivalent work experience in related fields.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in drafting with at least 3 years focused on independent design assignments; extensive experience in the gas and oil industry preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and 3D modeling techniques.
    • Experience working with survey data points and reference files.
    • Familiarity with drawing units including architectural feet & inches and decimal feet.
    • Solid knowledge of industry codes and standards such as ASME, API, ANSI, NEC, ISA, AISC, UBC, NFPA, AWS, NACE, IBC, and more.
    • Background in concrete and steel design and detailing.

Pay Rate: $42.00 – $45.00 Hourly
