We are seeking a highly skilled Elastic Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead the design, deployment, and management of enterprise-level Elasticsearch solutions. This critical role offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex, large-scale systems that enable mission-critical data insights for federal clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance Elasticsearch open-source environments tailored for enterprise needs.
  • Design, deploy, and maintain distributed, multi-tenant Elasticsearch clusters ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and resilience.
  • Develop and refine Java-based scripts to facilitate data ingestion, transformation, and visualization processes, supporting comprehensive data workflows.
  • Utilize advanced JSON techniques to configure index mappings, templates, and custom queries within the Elastic Stack, ensuring efficient data retrieval and management.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Elasticsearch best practices, including indexing strategies, query optimization, and security configurations to ensure robust and compliant solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including developers, data engineers, and federal stakeholders—to align Elasticsearch solutions with mission objectives.
  • Provide ongoing training and documentation to ensure team knowledge sharing and system sustainability.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Mandatory: Elasticsearch certification (Engineer, Analyst, or Architect preferred)
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Elasticsearch and the Elastic Stack (Kibana, Logstash, Beats)
  • Proficiency in Java scripting and advanced JSON data modeling techniques
  • Proven expertise in designing and managing distributed, multi-tenant Elasticsearch architectures
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly document complex technical solutions
  • Experience supporting government or federal clients is highly desirable.
Publishing Pay Range: $70.00 – $75.00 USD Hourly
