About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Journeyman Systems Engineer/Architect (TSSA) to support and lead critical infrastructure initiatives within a secure, mission-critical environment. You will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and management of BMC TrueSight Server Automation (TSSA) platform upgrades, supporting complex automation and patch management tasks, and ensuring the stability and security of our server environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of BMC TSSA platform upgrades and system validation to ensure continuous stability and performance.
- Provide advanced Level 3 support for the TSSA environment, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving intricate technical issues efficiently.
- Design, develop, and maintain automation scripts utilizing NSH and PowerShell to optimize server management workflows and improve operational efficiency.
- Manage and administer the TSSA infrastructure, monitoring system health, performance metrics, and implementing proactive maintenance.
- Automate compliance audits, security policies, and remediation processes to ensure adherence to stringent security standards.
- Develop, schedule, and manage patching jobs for Windows and Linux servers, ensuring timely application of security updates and patches.
- Collaborate across technical teams to design innovative automation solutions leveraging TSSA, enhancing operational workflows.
- Create comprehensive documentation for TSSA configurations, automation processes, and infrastructure procedures to support knowledge sharing and compliance.
- Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies to continually improve infrastructure stability, security, and automation practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field; equivalent experience accepted.
- Active Secret security clearance.
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CySA+) or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in system engineering, with at least 3-5 years of hands-on experience specifically with BMC TrueSight Server Automation (TSSA) including implementation, upgrade, and administration.
- Proficiency in scripting languages: NSH (Network Shell), PowerShell, Python, Bash, Java for automation and customization.
- Strong expertise in server patch management across Windows and Linux platforms using TSSA.
- Extensive knowledge of Windows and Linux server administration, including troubleshooting complex issues.
- Experience working within DoD or U.S. Coast Guard environments is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with databases such as Oracle or SQL Server.
- Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Understanding of DevOps practices and experience with CI/CD tools is a plus.
Pay Range: $48.00 – $50.00 Hourly
