Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain complex NIPRNet and SIPRNet network infrastructures, including routers, switches, firewalls, TACLANEs, and related hardware, ensuring adherence to strict DoD and DISA security standards.
- Implement, enforce, and audit security configurations on network devices, servers, and endpoints in compliance with STIGs and Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements to safeguard classified information.
- Review and analyze vulnerability scans (e.g., ACAS, SCAP), identify security gaps, and remediate vulnerabilities to maintain system accreditation and operational integrity.
- Develop comprehensive network documentation, including architecture diagrams, configuration baselines, and change management records to support efficient troubleshooting and audits.
- Support RMF lifecycle activities by preparing and updating accreditation artifacts such as System Security Plans, POA&Ms, and eMASS documentation.
- Monitor network performance and security alerts proactively, troubleshoot connectivity, authentication, and configuration issues within highly classified environments.
- Collaborate across cybersecurity teams, system engineers, and program managers to align network operations with evolving mission requirements and security policies.
- Participate in technical reviews, change control boards, and provide expert recommendations on network design, security enhancements, and process improvements.
- Stay current on emerging industry technologies, cybersecurity mandates, and best practices for classified network operations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 8 years’ progressive experience in network administration within federal agencies, with direct experience supporting classified networks.
- Active DoD Secret clearance is required; higher clearances are preferred.
- Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+, CySA+, CCNA Security, GSEC) or higher.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Cisco network hardware—including routers (39xx, 4xxx, 8K series), switches (29xx, 38xx, 9K series), and firewalls (55xx series and above).
- At least 3 years of direct experience with TACLANEs (KG-175D/F/N/G) and GEM management consoles, including configuration and engineering build responsibilities.
- Deep understanding of DoD STIGs, RMF process, and DISA security standards.
- Proven leadership in network hardening, vulnerability management, and system accreditation workflows.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with military branches is highly valued.
- Knowledge of Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), DoD Zero Trust architecture, and Infoblox DNS solutions.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing redundant, resilient TACLANE network architectures with failover capabilities.
- Experience working directly with senior government leaders and military officials, demonstrating exceptional communication and professionalism.
- Strong problem-solving, interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Publishing Pay Range: $40.00 – $45.00 Hourly
This position offers a hybrid schedule, with time split between the office and remote work.
