We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network / Palo Alto Consultant to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge network security projects, specializing in network/micro-application segmentation, firewall management, and integration with Illumio Host Agent. The ideal candidate will leverage in-depth technical expertise and strategic vision to enhance our security posture and deliver innovative solutions to complex network environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to design, implement, and refine Network and Micro-Application Segmentation strategies based on secure data flow principles.
- Manage and optimize Palo Alto firewall policies through detailed review, configuration, and troubleshooting, ensuring alignment with security standards and network operational requirements.
- Develop comprehensive security policies that facilitate or restrict data flows between users, applications, and application-to-application communications.
- Analyze firewall logs to identify data flow patterns, create, and fine-tune rules to effectively enforce security policies.
- Understand and manage security access rules, ACLs, and policies, ensuring accurate source and destination configurations.
- Configure and control protocol communications, including active and passive ports, to support seamless application and data communication.
- Perform IP subnetting, address management, and large data analysis using tools like Excel (e.g., VLookup, PivotTables, formulas) to support troubleshooting and planning.
- Basic scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Ansible are a plus, enabling automation and streamlined operations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of 8+ years of hands-on experience in operational networking, with a focus on firewall management—preferably Palo Alto.
- Over 15 years of industry experience working across cross-functional teams, demonstrating strong networking fundamentals.
- Proven expertise with network security policies, micro-segmentation, and data flow management.
- Experience working with Illumio Host Agent is advantageous.
- CCNP certification or higher required.
- Strong knowledge of IP network design, subnetting, and large-scale data analysis.
- Basic scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Ansible are desirable.
- Excellent leadership capabilities with the ability to mentor junior staff and coordinate with multiple teams.

- Creative problem solver with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
