This full-performance level position involves technical support and monitoring of statewide LAN/WAN networks, including both voice and data circuits. The technician will oversee network operations, troubleshoot issues, and maintain network integrity across multiple complex environments. The role requires proactive problem-solving, accurate record-keeping, and adherence to operational procedures to ensure optimal network performance.
Responsibilities
- Monitor network alarms, alerts, and faults to ensure continuous service reliability.
- Respond promptly to network incidents, troubleshooting issues to restore service.
- Maintain and update ServiceNow records, including incidents, requests, problems, change requests, and resolution documentation.
- Analyze network performance reports from management systems, databases, and spreadsheets to identify potential issues.
- Initiate trouble reports and coordinate corrective actions with maintenance or technical support teams.
- Participate in rotating shift schedules, including weekends and holidays, as part of a 24/7 support team.
- Support the maintenance of LAN/WAN configurations for point-to-point, wireless, campus, VPN, and agency host computers.
- Collaborate with technical teams to implement network improvements and updates.
- Document network configurations, changes, and procedures accurately within designated systems.
- Assist in diagnosing voice and data circuit issues, contributing to resolution strategies.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience supporting LAN/WAN networks and maintenance activities.
- At least 1 year of call center or service desk experience providing technical support.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information effectively.
- Knowledge of voice and data circuits, including troubleshooting and research methodologies.
- Experience with incident ticketing and management systems such as ServiceNow or Remedy.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Ability to work in a shift environment, including weekends and holidays.
- Good analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with network management tools and reporting systems.
- Candidates must have permanent authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
Publishing Pay Range: $18.00 – $20.00 USD Hourly
This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
