Role Summary
This remote project management role entails leading the planning, execution, and delivery of complex IT application projects on a contractual basis. The position requires overseeing project teams, managing budgets, and ensuring successful deployment from inception to operations. The project manager acts as a key liaison between the IT department and business stakeholders, maintaining project scope, schedule, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple IT application projects, typically valued between $1,000,000 and $10,000,000, ensuring they meet scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
- Assemble and lead cross-functional project teams, defining roles, responsibilities, and staffing requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and communicate detailed project schedules, work plans, and project documentation using standard project management tools.
- Conduct project kick-off meetings, monitor progress, and track issues, risks, and changes, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
- Forecast, review, and control project costs, including resource, material, and contract expenses, ensuring adherence to budget constraints.
- Coordinate contract work and logistics, including managing professional service agreements and site visits as required.
- Lead project reviews, performance assessments, and implement corrective actions to mitigate schedule slippages and scope variances.
- Monitor critical project milestones, proactively resolving schedule conflicts and ensuring timely project delivery.
- Manage project documentation for closures, audits, and record-keeping, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance.
- Serve as project owner for forecasting and cost review, maintaining accountability for overall project financials and status reporting.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of experience managing medium to high complexity IT application or product projects.
- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams and managing project budgets from $1M to $10M.
- Strong proficiency with project management methodologies, tools, and documentation processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from PMI is preferred.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently with strong judgment and discretion.
- Experience managing professional service agreements and logistics within IT environments.
- Availability to work remotely with a reliable internet connection.
Publishing Pay Range: $49.56 – $51.23 hourly
This is a fully remote role and can be performed from an approved location.
