We are seeking an experienced SD-WAN SME to lead the design, implementation, and management of cutting-edge SD-WAN solutions within our dynamic IT environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive digital transformation initiatives, enhance network performance, and contribute to large-scale, secure, and automated network infrastructures aligned with federal standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design & Deployment: Architect and deploy automated SD-WAN solutions that deliver high performance, scalability, and resilience across distributed networks.
  • Automation & Scripting: Develop robust automation scripts and tools (using Python, Ansible, REST APIs, Terraform) to streamline SD-WAN provisioning, configuration, and monitoring processes, reducing manual effort and deployment time.
  • Integration: Seamlessly integrate SD-WAN platforms with existing ITSM, network monitoring, and orchestration systems to ensure cohesive network operations.
  • Security & Performance: Collaborate with security teams to embed security policies, troubleshoot connectivity issues, optimize routing, and enforce policies for peak network performance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with architecture, engineering, and operations teams to define SD-WAN strategies aligned with organizational digital transformation and modernization goals.
  • Troubleshooting & Support: Provide expert guidance in solving complex SD-WAN issues related to connectivity, routing, policy enforcement, and network segmentation.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience & Expertise: Proven track record as an SD-WAN SME with hands-on experience deploying and managing platforms such as Cisco Viptela, VMware/Arista VeloCloud, Fortinet, or Silver Peak.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong background in network automation scripting (Python, Ansible, Terraform, RESTful APIs).
  • Network Knowledge: Deep understanding of IP routing protocols, VPN technologies, QoS, network segmentation, and hybrid/cloud architectures.
  • Certifications: Juniper VXLAN certification, Juniper MIST AI certification highly preferred.
  • Regulatory & Environment Knowledge: Familiarity with federal IT environments or similar large-scale regulated networks.
Publishing Pay Range: $75.00 – $80.00 USD Hourly
