Solution Data Architect
Job ID: 112215
Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma [Hybrid]
Category: App/Dev
Employment Type: Contract
Date Added: 03/13/2026
We are seeking a highly skilled Solution Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of robust data architectures supporting our Market Risk function. In this pivotal role, you will analyze complex risk business processes, fragmented data sources, and legacy systems, transforming them into scalable, accurate, and compliant data solutions. You will collaborate closely with business units, data modelers, and engineering teams to translate sophisticated risk requirements into effective data architectures that underpin reporting, regulatory compliance, and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth analysis of intricate Market Risk processes and data flows, including manual, spreadsheet-driven, and legacy workflows, across multiple trading desks and risk lines.
- Investigate heterogeneous source systems and data feeds (trading, pricing, risk sources) to understand their structure, semantics, integrity issues, and impact on risk reporting accuracy.
- Partner with business analysts and subject matter experts to refine and challenge requirements, ensuring data definitions and business logic are precise and comprehensive.
- Translate complex operational risk, regulatory, and business drivers into clear, actionable data architecture guidance suitable for implementation by engineering teams.
- Support data modelers by validating source behaviors, business hierarchies, calculation logic, and source semantics, without taking primary ownership of data modeling.
- Develop and recommend optimal data ingestion and integration strategies (batch, real-time, incremental, reconciliation, controls) aligned with risk governance, auditability, and downstream reporting needs.
- Identify potential data quality, lineage, and control issues early to mitigate downstream risks in reporting, audit, and regulatory submissions.
- Serve as a communication bridge across business, data, and engineering teams, fostering a shared understanding of data flow, meaning, and usage in a complex and evolving environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of 8+ years in data or solution architecture supporting complex, data-rich business domains, preferably within finance, trading, risk, or regulated environments.
- Proven experience analyzing fragmented, manual, legacy, and heterogeneous data sources, with a strong understanding of semantics, quality issues, and downstream impacts.
- Demonstrated ability to partner directly with business stakeholders, translating requirements into detailed data definitions, uncovering gaps, edge cases, and validation points.
- Hands-on experience designing and recommending data ingestion and integration patterns—batch vs. incremental, reconciliation, handling late data, and corrections.
- Expertise in transforming business, regulatory, and operational requirements into sound data architecture solutions.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences and facilitate collaboration across teams.
Preferred Skills & Technologies:
- Experience working with cloud data platforms, preferably AWS, including AWS data services and cloud-native architectures.
- Familiarity with modern data technologies such as Snowflake, Confluent Kafka, and Fivetran.
- Proven record of modernizing or replacing manual, spreadsheet-based processes with scalable, governed data solutions that ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
