This role involves overseeing the administration, management, and support of an organization's Microsoft 365 (M365) hybrid environment. The position requires ensuring optimal system performance, security, and integration of cloud-based and on-premises M365 services. It is suited for an experienced systems administrator capable of working independently to support end-users and collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain a secure and efficient hybrid M365 environment.
Responsibilities
- Administer and manage M365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, and other applications.
- Monitor M365 health, performance, and logs to ensure system stability, security, and compliance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to M365 service disruptions, integrations, and hybrid configurations.
- Configure and maintain mailboxes, including email forwarding, shared mailboxes, and security settings for secure email communication.
- Maintain and troubleshoot hybrid Exchange environments, ensuring mail flow and directory synchronization are functioning properly.
- Implement and enforce security policies and best practices within M365, including data loss prevention and compliance controls.
- Conduct regular security audits and assessments to ensure regulatory and organizational compliance.
- Provide Tier 3 support for complex M365-related issues and assist end-users with troubleshooting.
- Develop and deliver training materials and documentation for end-user and IT staff education.
- Collaborate with IT support teams, vendors, and stakeholders to integrate M365 services and deploy new features in a hybrid environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in M365 administration or similar roles, with proven experience managing hybrid environments.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Teams.
- Proficiency in managing hybrid configurations involving Azure AD Connect, Exchange Hybrid, and hybrid mail flow.
- Experience with Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, and hybrid identity solutions.
- Familiarity with networking protocols such as DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP.
- Skills in scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, or equivalent for automation tasks.
- Knowledge of security principles, best practices, and tools related to M365 security and compliance.
- Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and operate effectively within a collaborative team environment.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future.
- Valid security clearance (Secret) required.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+ and ITILv4 Foundations are preferred.
Publishing Pay Range: $40.00 – $45.00 Hourly
This is a fully remote role and can be performed from an approved location.
