In this vital role, you will oversee the welding department, ensuring the delivery of defect-free products on time and at optimal costs. You will cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, fostering a safe, productive, and compliant work environment that aligns with our company’s goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead regular HSE training sessions, conduct safety meetings, and promote safety initiatives such as yellow cards and STOP cards.
  • Incident Prevention & Investigation: Ensure all safety protocols and housekeeping standards are upheld. Analyze root causes of any incidents, implement corrective actions, and continually strive to eliminate long-term injuries (LTI).
  • Quality Assurance: Guarantee all welded products meet customer specifications. Halt production if non-conformities are identified, and coordinate corrective actions. Maintain strict traceability for all products, including batch markings, welding parameters, and test reports.
  • Operational Support: Provide operators with necessary tools, work instructions, and documentation to facilitate safe and efficient work. Collaborate with Planning teams to develop realistic production schedules considering raw material availability and customer delivery commitments (Confirmed Stock Date).
  • Resources & Equipment Management: Ensure adequate manpower levels and monitor equipment readiness. Schedule and oversee testing, and organize technical modifications or maintenance as needed to address safety, quality, or technical issues.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead or participate in workshops focused on process optimization (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, SMED). Promote a culture of ongoing improvement within the team.
  • Workplace Organization & Standards: Maintain a clean, organized work environment aligned with 5S standards to boost efficiency and safety.
  • People Development: Recruit, evaluate, and develop team members to build a skilled workforce. Set clear personal objectives, provide constructive feedback, and identify training needs to support career growth. Foster a positive, high-performance team dynamic.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise welding, machine, assembly, and paint shop operations in collaboration with team leads. Work closely with Engineering, Purchasing, Logistics, Warehouse, and support functions such as HSE and HR.
  • Compliance & Policy Adherence: Follow HSE policies and procedures actively, participate in hazard and incident reporting, and behave responsibly. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality standards and implement quality system instructions and procedures.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years of supervisory experience in welding or mechanical manufacturing environments.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent vision (corrected if necessary), including depth perception and color recognition, essential for reading blueprints, monitoring welds, and identifying flaws.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including prolonged standing, kneeling, crouching, bending, and working in tight or elevated spaces.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and wearing heavy protective gear in hot environments.
  • Demonstrated awareness of safety protocols and commitment to a safe working environment.
