Office 365 / Endpoint Engineer
Contract Opportunity (90 Days + Potential Extension)
Overview
We are looking for a versatile Office 365 / Endpoint Engineer to support a critical Microsoft Teams and endpoint reliability initiative within a large-scale enterprise environment.
This is a 90-day contract engagement, with the possibility of extension, centered on diagnosing and resolving intermittent Microsoft Teams performance issues impacting a wide user population. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with strong technical breadth, exceptional troubleshooting abilities, and a talent for bringing clarity and structure to complex, ambiguous situations.
This role is well-suited for a Microsoft-focused generalist who can independently investigate issues, identify root causes, and drive solutions from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead deep-dive troubleshooting and resolution of advanced Microsoft Teams issues, including audio/video quality, connectivity, call performance, and Teams Phone functionality.
- Analyze and resolve Windows 10/11 endpoint issues related to configurations, imaging, and Active Directory dependencies.
- Identify underlying causes of inconsistent or intermittent user impact and implement long-term, sustainable fixes.
- Review and optimize endpoint imaging standards, configuration baselines, and Microsoft 365 tenant configurations.
- Collaborate closely with infrastructure, architecture, and cross-functional IT teams to implement corrective actions.
- Support ongoing Windows 11 deployment efforts and broader Microsoft 365 optimization initiatives.
- Document technical findings, implemented solutions, and preventative best practices.
- Provide strategic recommendations to improve endpoint stability, performance, and user experience across collaboration platforms.
Required Experience
- Proven experience troubleshooting complex Microsoft Teams issues in enterprise environments.
- Hands-on engineering and administration expertise with Microsoft 365 / Office 365.
- Strong understanding of Active Directory, including group policies and identity dependencies.
- Experience with Windows 10/11 imaging, endpoint configuration, and device management processes.
- Ability to diagnose issues affecting specific user groups (e.g., policy conflicts, profile corruption, AD sync inconsistencies, tenant configuration drift).
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and shape technical direction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PC migration utilities (e.g., PC Mover).
- Background supporting multi-site or distributed enterprise environments.
- Prior experience in endpoint engineering or using endpoint analytics tools.
