Role Summary

The Procurement / Sourcing Specialist I is an entry level position focused on executing procurement activities to support the timely acquisition of goods and services. This role involves processing a high volume of material requisitions, ensuring data accuracy, and maintaining strong vendor relationships. The specialist operates within established policies to facilitate operational efficiency and cost-effective purchasing, supporting internal teams and procurement objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Process a high volume of material and service requisitions promptly and accurately, adhering to procurement policies and approval workflows
  • Review requisitions for completeness, accuracy, and compliance, resolving discrepancies in collaboration with internal requestors
  • Research and validate vendor pricing through contracts, catalogs, price lists, and historical purchase data
  • Leverage historical spend data and established pricing to support cost-effective procurement decisions
  • Create and issue purchase orders to approved vendors, ensuring alignment with requisition specifications
  • Coordinate with vendors to confirm order acceptance, delivery schedules, and fulfillment milestones
  • Proactively monitor open orders, follow up with suppliers to support on time delivery, and communicate updates to internal stakeholders
  • Support resolution of delivery delays, pricing issues, invoice discrepancies, and vendor claims
  • Maintain accurate procurement documentation within ERP and procurement systems
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain Specialists, Operations, and Finance teams to optimize procurement processes and reporting

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, or related field; prior relevant experience if no degree
  • Experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to validate pricing and maintain precise records
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Familiarity with ERP, procurement, or supply chain systems is a plus
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle high volume transactional activities
  • Effective communication skills for liaising with vendors and internal teams
  • Analytical mindset to identify pricing discrepancies and delivery risks
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks independently within established procedures

Publishing Pay Range: $21.00 – $25.00 hourly

This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
