Role Summary
The Engineering Records CAD Specialist is a technical role centered on supporting the maintenance and accuracy of engineering documentation related to pipelines, facilities, and mechanical systems. This position involves creating, updating, and reviewing detailed technical drawings, ensuring compliance with industry standards. It offers an opportunity for experienced drafting professionals to contribute to infrastructure integrity and asset management within an industrial or pipeline environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and revise piping, mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical drawings using AutoCAD software.
  • Review and edit drawings such as PFDs, P&IDs, general equipment layouts, and facility plot plans to ensure compliance with industry and internal standards.
  • Manage pipeline alignment sheets, HDD documentation, and related records for operational and regulatory purposes.
  • Extract and organize drawing metadata, including equipment, valve, and instrument lists, maintaining proper revision control and document history.
  • Support multiple projects by coordinating drafting inputs with internal teams and external engineering partners.
  • Participate in project meetings to provide drafting insights and ensure alignment with project scope and standards.
  • Resolve CAD issues related to external references (Xrefs) by communicating with vendors and third-party drafters.
  • Assist with file management tasks such as bundling, transmittals, and preparing documentation for project handovers.
  • Maintain meticulous records of document revisions, correspondence, and transmittals to ensure data integrity.
  • Uphold high standards of drawing quality and accuracy across all project deliverables.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of drafting and design experience with AutoCAD software.
  • Proven ability to interpret and produce piping, mechanical, pipeline schematics, and alignment sheets.
  • Experience reading engineering documents, including P&IDs, PFDs, plot plans, and pipeline route data.
  • Ability to manage multiple drafting assignments concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of industry drafting standards for pipeline, plant, or industrial settings.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and engineering document management systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to drawing accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams.
  • Organized with strong prioritization skills to handle competing project deadlines.
  • Professional demeanor with a high degree of ownership in record management.

Publishing Pay Range: $27.00 – $34.00 hourly

This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
