Role Summary
This contract position involves supporting a comprehensive application code migration, focused on transitioning various applications and services from .NET Framework 4.x to .NET 6. The role requires a detail-oriented developer with strong expertise in C# and .NET technologies. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with management and participate actively in code conversions, testing, and optimization efforts to ensure smooth migration and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in converting and migrating web applications and web services from .NET Framework to .NET 6 and above, primarily using C#
  • Rewrite ASP.NET WebForms code into Blazor Server applications utilizing custom frameworks and libraries
  • Convert WCF web services into RESTful APIs built on modern .NET platforms, adhering to best practices
  • Follow established developer guidelines and coding standards during development and migration activities
  • Conduct functional testing to verify the accuracy and reliability of migrated code
  • Collaborate with management through regular meetings, code reviews, and documentation updates
  • Debug and optimize code to improve performance, maintainability, and reliability
  • Write and maintain SQL queries to interact with Microsoft SQL Server databases
  • Ensure compatibility and performance standards are met throughout the migration process
  • Document migration procedures, issues encountered, and resolutions for future reference

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year experience developing in C# with a focus on .NET frameworks and platform conversions
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language, with strong preference for C# and .NET technologies
  • Understanding of software development best practices, including code versioning, testing, and documentation
  • Experience rewriting legacy web applications using modern frameworks such as Blazor Server
  • Knowledge of converting WCF services into RESTful APIs
  • Ability to write efficient SQL statements and work with Microsoft SQL Server databases
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in debugging and performance tuning
  • Availability to work on-site in the designated location.
  • Ability to adhere to project deadlines and team guidelines.

Publishing Pay Range: $25.00 – $35.00 hourly USD

This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
