Role Summary
A highly motivated Data Engineer with a passion for cloud computing is sought to support large-scale data systems in a remote environment. This role involves managing data ingestion pipelines, automating processes, and applying analytical skills to optimize data workflows. The ideal candidate will have experience working with cloud-based data platforms and a strong foundation in data management and automation.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and workflows in cloud environments, primarily using BigQuery or equivalent platforms.
- Automate data ingestion processes utilizing tools such as Airflow or similar automation frameworks.
- Manage large datasets efficiently, ensuring data integrity and performance optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data integration, testing, and deployment within production environments.
- Implement best practices for change management and version control during development cycles.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data processing issues, applying analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Document data workflows and processes clearly for team reference and compliance purposes.
- Support data migration efforts from on-premise or hosted platforms to cloud-based solutions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance data infrastructure capabilities.
- Stay current with evolving cloud data technologies and incorporate innovative solutions as appropriate.
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience managing large data systems in production environments.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based data platforms, preferably BigQuery; experience with Google Cloud is a plus.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python for data manipulation, automation, and analysis.
- Experience automating data ingestion and workflows using Airflow or comparable tools.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Familiarity with SDLC processes, including testing and deployment in production environments.
- Knowledge of change management practices related to data workflows and solutions.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting with efficient communication skills.
- Preferred experience in healthcare data environments, JIRA, Confluence, and cloud migration processes.
- Exposure to AI applications for development and problem resolution is advantageous.
Publishing Pay Range: $50.00 – $52.00 hourly
This is a fully remote role and can be performed from an approved location.
