Role Summary
The Senior Deployment Solutions Engineer is a senior-level position responsible for leading large-scale, complex telecommunications and IT infrastructure deployment programs. This role oversees end-to-end delivery of multiple concurrent initiatives, ensuring timely, within-budget, and compliant implementation of network, hardware, and platform components. Collaboration with engineering, operations, vendors, and stakeholders is essential to drive scalable and reliable deployment projects aligned with organizational objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all phases of deployment program delivery, including planning, vendor management, installation, testing, and production release for 2–4 large initiatives simultaneously.
  • Own program scope, schedule, budget, and associated governance to ensure goals are met, managing trade-offs and mitigating risks.
  • Serve as the technical authority, providing guidance on deployment strategies, network/hardware implementation, and risk management.
  • Collaborate with architecture and engineering teams to validate deployment designs and approve deployment documentation such as MOPs and configuration plans.
  • Manage vendor relationships, ensuring performance adherence, coordinating meetings, and negotiating scope changes as needed.
  • Maintain program risk register, actively mitigating risks affecting service continuity, budget, or timelines.
  • Track program expenditures against approved budgets, identifying variances and recommending corrective measures.
  • Develop integrated project schedules, managing dependencies and critical activities across concurrent deployment initiatives.
  • Act as the primary communication link with stakeholders, providing status updates, escalation support, and executive briefings.
  • Lead quality assurance efforts, ensuring deployments comply with regulatory standards, network policies, and best practices, while fostering continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • 8–12+ years of experience in telecommunications, IT infrastructure deployment, or network program management.
  • Proven success managing complex, multi-threaded deployment programs in large-scale telecom or enterprise settings.
  • Extensive technical expertise in network and hardware deployments, particularly with Cisco technologies, including routing, switching, and transport.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships, field operations, and multimillion-dollar program budgets.
  • Proficiency with enterprise project management tools and methodologies; PMP certification or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Availability to work remotely, with the capacity to coordinate across multiple teams and stakeholders.
