Role Summary
This is a full-time, on-site CAD Draftsperson position supporting government facility infrastructure projects. The role involves creating, modifying, and maintaining detailed engineering and architectural drawings for air-to-ground communication equipment installation and upgrades. Working closely with engineering teams, the candidate will ensure all drawings meet federal standards, facilitating successful project planning and execution within a government-regulated environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide drafting and design support for facility as-built and design update drawings.
- Create, modify, and maintain technical engineering drawings using CAD software and manual drafting techniques.
- Ensure all drawings comply with federal standards, including Order 6000.55 and STD-002.
- Translate field survey data, notes, and design specifications into accurate technical documentation.
- Manage drawing libraries, version control, and configuration management of engineering documentation.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and field personnel to incorporate revisions and updates.
- Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to applicable standards.
- Identify discrepancies or potential design issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Support project phases from design through installation planning and documentation updates.
- Assist in maintaining consistent documentation practices across engineering teams.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree, or equivalent (3 years with master's degree, 7 years with associate degree, or 9 years in lieu of degree).
- This position requires eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance. In accordance with federal law, U.S. citizenship is required.
- Proven experience developing technical drawings using CAD tools, preferably with AutoCAD.
- Strong proficiency with CAD software, including 3D modeling and Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools.
- Ability to produce precise technical drawings and identify discrepancies or errors.
- Familiarity with engineering, architectural, or manufacturing terminology, symbols, and standards.
- Experience supporting federal infrastructure or programs is preferred.
- Knowledge of facility engineering documentation and as-built drawing standards.
- Professional certifications such as Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP) or SolidWorks Certified Associate (CSWA) are a plus.
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with engineering teams and field personnel.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict adherence to government standards.
Publishing Pay Range: $36.00 – $40.00 hourly
This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
