Role Summary
This procurement and sourcing specialist role involves managing high-volume material requisitions, ensuring accurate vendor pricing, and coordinating timely delivery of goods and services. The position emphasizes operational efficiency, data accuracy, and adherence to procurement policies. The successful candidate will support internal teams and maintain effective vendor relationships to meet business needs and optimize purchasing processes.
Responsibilities
- Process a high volume of material and service requisitions promptly and accurately in compliance with procurement policies and approval protocols
- Review requisitions for completeness, correctness, and adherence to guidelines; resolve discrepancies collaboratively with requestors
- Research and validate vendor pricing through contracts, price lists, catalogs, and historical purchase data
- Utilize historical spend and pricing information to support cost-effective purchasing decisions and consistent application of negotiated rates
- Create and issue purchase orders to approved vendors, ensuring alignment with requisition requirements
- Coordinate with suppliers to confirm order acceptance, delivery timelines, and fulfillment status
- Proactively track open orders and follow up with vendors to support on-time delivery goals
- Communicate order statuses, delays, or modifications clearly and promptly to internal stakeholders
- Support delivery schedule expediting and resolve issues related to delivery, pricing discrepancies, invoice mismatches, and vendor claims
- Maintain accurate procurement documentation within ERP and procurement systems, supporting reporting and audit requirements
Qualifications
- Ability to manage and prioritize numerous procurement transactions efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail, with a focus on data accuracy, pricing validation, and comprehensive documentation
- Working knowledge of procurement and purchasing processes
- Experience researching vendor pricing and using historical purchase data to inform decisions
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and suppliers
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Familiarity with ERP, procurement, or supply chain systems is preferred
- Analytical mindset capable of identifying pricing discrepancies and potential delivery risks
- Experience with RFQ processes is advantageous
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, or related field
- Prior experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or high-volume administrative processing is preferred if no degree is obtained
Publishing Pay Range: $17.00 – $22.00 Hourly
This position offers a hybrid schedule, with time split between the office and remote work.
