Role Summary
The Information Security Analyst is responsible for supporting the security operations within the organization's Security Operations Center (SOC). This role involves monitoring and analyzing security alerts, implementing security measures, and assisting with vulnerability assessments to protect sensitive information assets. The position requires a strong understanding of security tools and incident response procedures, providing critical support to maintain the integrity and confidentiality of organizational data.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze security alerts from Extended Detection and Response (XDR) and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems to determine severity and impact.
  • Implement, maintain, and document technical security controls to safeguard information assets.
  • Review infrastructure changes to ensure security measures are adequately maintained.
  • Conduct network penetration tests, vulnerability scans, and application security assessments.
  • Promote organizational awareness of information security best practices and policies.
  • Monitor internal control systems to ensure appropriate access management and compliance.
  • Support and participate in projects throughout the systems development life cycle.
  • Respond promptly to security incidents, providing effective incident response and remediation.
  • Collaborate with team members and subject matter experts to resolve complex security issues.
  • Perform additional security-related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in information security or related roles.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct security analysis and incident response.
  • Knowledge of endpoint security analysis, malware exploitation techniques, and anomaly detection.
  • Understanding of social engineering tactics and countermeasures.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to convey technical information effectively.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills, capable of handling multiple security tasks.
  • Ability to act swiftly and effectively on security events, and collaborate within a team environment.
  • Experience with security tools such as ProofPoint Targeted Attack Protection, Cloud Threat Response, ZenGuide CrowdStrike Falcon EDR is required.
  • Familiarity with additional tools like Microsoft Defender XDR, Microsoft Sentinel, SonarQube, Tenable, OpenText WebInspect, and Syslog-NG is a plus.
  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired must verify their identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future.

Publishing Pay Range: $50.00 – $55.00 hourly
