Role Summary
This senior-level Portfolio Manager oversees a diverse portfolio of complex client programs, ensuring their successful delivery to achieve strategic business outcomes. Responsible for providing portfolio-level oversight, this role manages multiple concurrent initiatives, maintains governance standards, and drives operational excellence. The position involves mentoring program managers, fostering a collaborative delivery culture, and ensuring financial accountability across the entire portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end portfolio management, aligning project intake, tracking, and execution with organizational priorities and measurable business results.
  • Collaborate with clients to prioritize projects based on business value, resource capacity, and risk factors to maintain project momentum.
  • Establish and enforce portfolio governance processes, standards, and reporting mechanisms to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Manage resource allocation effectively across the portfolio to meet strategic objectives and operational needs.
  • Build and maintain trusted stakeholder partnerships, facilitating regular portfolio review meetings and cross-functional alignment sessions.
  • Lead program managers in developing detailed project plans, ensuring scope, schedules, resources, and deadlines are effectively managed.
  • Proactively identify risks, issues, dependencies, and develop mitigation strategies to prevent delivery disruptions.
  • Oversee financial performance, including budget forecasting, revenue tracking, gross profit, and margin improvement initiatives.
  • Implement standardized reporting and dashboards to synthesize portfolio health, team performance, and strategic insights for leadership.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project management practices, team efficiency, and overall value delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, engineering, or related field; advanced degree or MBA preferred.
  • PMP, PgMP, Agile, SAFe, or ITIL certifications are a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in program or project management, with at least 5 years managing large, complex IT or infrastructure portfolios in professional or managed services environments.
  • Proven leadership in managing multi-disciplinary, cross-functional teams and portfolios.
  • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for multimillion-dollar programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure, governance, risk management, and project planning tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, and Power BI.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and conflict resolution capabilities.

Publishing Pay Range: $91.00 – $94.00 Hourly
This is a fully remote role and can be performed from an approved location.
