Role Summary
A Hardware Lab Technician is responsible for supporting the development, validation, and troubleshooting of advanced datacenter hardware within a fast-paced engineering environment. This position involves hands-on work with server systems, development platforms, and validation equipment to ensure the functionality and reliability of next-generation CPU and GPU accelerated technologies. The role offers exposure to cutting-edge data center innovations, AI computing infrastructure, and complex hardware/software debugging activities.
Responsibilities
- Assemble, build, install, and maintain benchtop development platforms and large-scale data center server systems.
- Perform system assembly, disassembly, and mechanical rework activities using laboratory tools and equipment.
- Prepare hardware components and circuit boards for detailed solder rework activities.
- Execute validation and system testing procedures to verify product functionality and performance.
- Collect, document, and communicate test results to engineering teams.
- Screen boards and modules as part of validation, troubleshooting, and debugging efforts.
- Connect oscilloscope probes and collect signal waveform data for engineering analysis.
- Support hardware and software debugging activities within development and validation environments.
- Maintain an organized laboratory environment and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and processes.
- Support shipping, receiving, inventory management, and equipment tracking activities.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure development systems remain operational and available.
- Work independently to complete daily priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Qualifications
- Diploma, technical certification, Associate Degree, Bachelor's Degree in a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in an electronics laboratory, engineering laboratory, validation environment, or testing environment.
- Experience supporting silicon bring-up, board validation, board design, system validation, or system design activities.
- Fundamental understanding of computing architectures and hardware operation.
- Experience with system level debugging and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with board bring-up activities and customer-focused technical support.
- Experience operating within a Linux command line environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently within a laboratory environment.
- Availability to work Monday through Friday from 5:00 PM to 2:00 AM.
Publishing Pay Range: $35.00 – $40.00 hourly
Location Requirements: On-Site
